Struisbaai's quaint harbour provides whale watching boat excursions. (The whale mating season is between May and December.) The coast has also become home to several shipwrecks - including those of the Zoetendal, Birkenhead and Arniston.Inland, charming fishermen’s cottages will have you grabbing your camera. Hiking and mountain biking; guided 4x4 tours; shell shops; the restored thatch-roof Anglican Church is a national monument (well worth a visit); the Aghulhas lighthouse is the second oldest working lighthouse in southern Africa.
